We are not afraid

We are not afraid. This slogan is now used in the politics , but it is valid in the everday life. In my country was totalitarism about 48 years, I know what it is to be afraid. But the freedom is not depend on a system, because every man is depend on a whichever system, but not every one is not indepedendent and not afraid myself.

I don't know, I"m a little afraid. If the idea that we need to understand the terrorists and give them special rights with hot meal and let them continue to abuse the world, then I'm afraid. Thankfully for me personally, I live in the United States and am married to a soldier, so I know about the progress we are making in stopping terrorists, but many countries do not seem on board with stopping terrorists, therefore we should always be on guard for some level of terror.

However, I have not lived through totalitarianism as you have, Jaroslav, and would be interested to hear some of your experiences. They are very valuable.

It is the people in power who are the most afraid. We commoners have to go on about earning our daily bread, come what may. It is them who shield themselves behind security curtains at our expense.

The truth is that we might not be afraid, but we are insecure.

In India we are not new to this phenomenon called terrorism. The American eyes opened only after 9/11. We also have to live with sectarian conflicts (something which I have a first hand experience of). But, yet it is always the commoner who shows the guts (perhaps he/she does not have any other option). The city of Bombay (Mumbai) is a classic example.
